Top of the Reef

Top of the Reef is a French Fine Dining Restaurant within the grounds of Cape Panwa Hotel, which is at the very South end of Phuket Island.  I waited until a Sunday to have this dish because it is only available on the Sunday Set Menu.

Of course I could have arrived earlier for the Happy Hour at the bar adjacent (Otter's Bar) but I really only wanted the Beef Wellington...

Delicious, the beef inside the flaky crust pastry was rare / medium and the pate was delicious, we are starved of good quality pate here in Phuket so this is a real pleasure.  Of course there is a different set menu for every other day plus a full a la carte menu to choose from...

Worth the wait until a Sunday

Euro-deli

We chose here because it was close to Dino Park!!!!

The menu was (obviously) Western and was served beautifully.  The bread was clearly fresh and I could not get enough of it, hungry even thinking about it.  The chicken salad was tasty and very filling - a lovely dinner - so was the rest but I can't remember the dishes.

The only thing that detracted from our enjoyment was that the guidelines for not smoking in a restaurant were ignored...

Preang Prai - 5th visit

What a beautiful location - Preang Prai Restaurant is in the Northern part of Phuket Island and is just outside the Gibbon Rehabilitation project and Bang-Pae waterfall - places which must be visited whilst you are here in Phuket.

The food is always prepared well and is of good Thai quality - which is I always see Thai people there. There has been an increase in tourists visiting actually - which is always good, but it was quite busy though.  I do enjoy being married to a beautiful Thai woman because food is so much more of an event to be shared - plates are shared and  food is shared - none of the Western attitude of 'my plate' sorry I digress.

The food is certainly worth a visit.

The Beach Bar another visit

We chose to visit here because our daughter loves to visit, the food is consistent and they are able to cook it Thai style for us.

Cheun's mother enjoyed the Thai food and Jemma enjoyed chasing the crabs.

It is always a pleasure for us.

Soul Food at Sri Panwa (and Baba's Nest)

After a drink at Baba's Nest at Sri Panwa with my friends for the party of the opening of their new Soul food restaurant...

Delicious food - hungry thinking about it.

Fruit, Vegetables and Mang Da Na in Phuket Town

There is still a traditional local market in Phuket Town and I have visited it with Chris and Tiff a couple who I married on the beach at Cape Panwa - I don't recall them eating any of these though.

These are referred to as Giant Water Bugs -
(Mang Da Na).

Well they are too scary BUT if you want to eat them Willy knows how to and what to drink with them - have a read. BUT I do not know how much to pay?

Treetops

Treetops restaurant is a small local restaurant opposite
the Radisson Blu Resort in Cape Panwa.

The food and price was average but there was very little atmosphere.
