Lung Dum - traditional Thai Ice Cream

You must try some Thai ice cream whilst you are here in Phuket and here is a great place to visit. Lung Dum is just on the outskirts of Phuket Town.

Choose your ice cream. Now the usual ice cream is coconut...

Then add all the extra bits...

1 = mung bean
2 = Kidney Bean
3 = pandanus jelly
4 = pomegranate

5 = Peanuts
6 = barley
7 = pumpkin or taro
8 = Pandanus

9 = bread
10 = sticky rice
11 = Black jelly
12 = Lychees

Deeeelicious...

Natural - Thamachat

Natural is also referred to as Thamachat and has certainly got a history in Phuket - lovely to see that they now have a websiteIt is certainly an interesting place to visit - just have a look at their gallery on their website - it certainly is interesting!

So what happens to all the old television sets, irons, masks, trowels, puppets, computer screens, wooden animals and so much more.

Then they have taken time to add plants all around. There are 3 or 4 levels to the restaurant and the staff usually guide you to the appropriate floor - the ground floor is usually the most busy - but there is a small pond there with some big fish in there...

I love their fresh fruit juices made as an iced smoothie - I will usually have two! The food is cooked quickly and there is also a large number of dishes to choose from.

Not sure why there are frog's legs on the menu but there is also a selection of Western dishes.

So what was fabulous - Yam Ma Muang - Spicy green mango salad - fresh and wonderful.

Happy to see that it is still popular with the local Thai people - this is always a good indication of their Thai food. Not all of my visits were great so I was glad that this last visit certainly was an improvement to my last one - back to the old school?

Coffee Circle

I realised that I have not written about visiting Coffee Circle very often!

After looking at my check-ins on foursquare that I visit here more often that I have posted here. It is a small coffee shop in the middle of Phuket Old Town - close to - Robinsons, Kota Khao Mun Kai, Svenson Ice Cream, Mee Ton Poeหมสมจตต Hok Ngoun Kung Chinese Shrine and more.

You are able to sit inside with the air-conditioning on a collection of chairs and tables or you can sit outside and watch the world go round - easier when you are waiting to be picked up. I do believe that you can have breakfast there but I never had - it is certainly a coffee and cake place for me.

There are a lot of great cakes.

You can always have a cup of tea?

Don't forget that it does close twice a month. Enjoy your visit

Noodle Cafe

ขลุกขลิก นู้ดเดิ้ล คาเฟ่ is a simple place on the side of the road in Phuket Town - there was a traffic jam and I was hungry.

I had to have a traditional Iced Tea (Cha Yen)

So what did I have? I have got no idea BUT it was delicious.

This was it from the outside but precious little more information

The Mangrove Panwa

The Mangrove Panwa is very near to where we live so we visit it regularly for breakfast.

So what is it like? Very simple buffet breakfast with minimal Thai food on it and standard Western food - but it was cheap and Jemma loves the sausages BUT the attraction goes beyond this...

The location is really quite beautiful.

There is a pool (ask first before swimming) when we went it was empty...

Then there were the rabbits...

You could have a massage as well...

Or just have a game of chess...

Then there is the stone marker to indicate where the edge of where the land becomes the sea...

36 Cafe

36 Cafe seems to be another coffee shop which has sprung from somewhere and seems to have some character to it.

Where do all these old toys come from?

I could not keep my eyes from hunting down more and more.

Then it was time for the WiFi - it was free...

There was a television here as well - obviously not working...

The cappuccino - to tell you the truth I don't remember - but I will go back and try to remember next time BUT I have the feeling that it might not be there the next time that I take a wander...

It was served with a Chinese Tea though which I thought was a nice touch...
