Kuppadeli

Kuppadeli was somewhere that was taken specifically to taste the coffee - but it always helps to have something to eat first. It was then that I found out that thee are a number of these outlets spread across Bangkok.

This was certainly a trendy place to visit - the decor was quite up to date and it was quickly filling up for lunch with the workers from the local area.

It was certainly a place where you could get some great sandwiches - and they were certainly tasty - including all the little bots added to them.

But the crowning glory was the coffees....

l'angolo caffe'

L'angolo caffe is a place which I stumbled on when I was first working around the corner from here and I have never looked back. It has the appearance of being a Western style cafe and it serves Western food and Western coffees

My choices have been many

the toasted sandwich and more

but I always come back to the chicken salad - wonderful, I always want to ask them where the dressing comes from but it might spoil the experience so I never do.

Usually I have a smoothie with my lunch but sometimes they are a little filling - they do offer water for free.

Then there is a plethora of different coffees and this is something that I have never been disappointed in.

Whilst waiting for my lunch I usually sit watching the traffic outside and the many motorbikes going the wrong way - with a plethora of characters to share my lunch with.

Greyhound Cafe - Megabangna

Greyhound Cafe is a popular chain of restaurants that we stumbled upon whilst we were purchasing some furniture at Megabangna. Megabangna is an enormous complex of shops that is impossible to believe - it is said to be one of the biggest shopping malls in Asia.

We were starving and I was worried that we would not be served quickly but we were and the food was definitely worth it.

The restaurant was tastefully decorated and there was a simple Western menu. The food was wonderful - every little morsel which we had was great.

If I was at home I would have licked the plate...

Thought the side dish was funny.

Red Umbrella Cafe

Red Umbrella Cafe was a recent addition to the local restaurants near us. It was different in a number of ways.

We enjoyed having the Western food at Thai prices. I would have to add at this point thought that you may feel that the size of the dishes are small.

However the staff were all embracing for us and I am sure that this made the food taste even better.

I thought that it was a lovely idea - the paintings were a nice addition.

The cheese fries were very welcome whilst we waited for the main courses to arrive.

Dean and Deluca

Dean and Deluca are a company very large in Thailand and very popular - they sell more than just coffee but I have not been interested in anything else. But it does alway seem to be busy with mostly professionally dressed people?

On the corner of the roads and there is an outside seating and inside seating.

This cappuccino was (and always is) a pleasure to drink - it was strong and the chocolate was a beautiful accompaniment to go with the coffee.

There was not much of a selection if cakes though - had they all gone? I must return to have a look at what there could be...

Cafe 8 afternoon - desert cafe

This was a place that we chose to go to because Swensen's was closed.

It is a different type of Cafe than I normally visit - this is a desert cafe. And guess what they specialize in... This was more than just this though - they did sell food as well and I believe it to be Korean? But we only chose deserts.

Mango

Chocolate Oreo (after we had eaten most of it)

But I am not sure what it is made of - I should really find out - but they do taste good.
